INTRODUCTION

Lovely Bouquet Foundation is a trans-and-ally-led activist organization grounded in a simple conviction: every person deserves dignity, safety, opportunity, and the freedom to live authentically. We bring that conviction into the world through original theatre, documentary film, interactive education, and community dialogue.

Our work centers transgender, gender-expansive, and intersex lives while inviting broader audiences into honest conversation. We challenge misinformation and discrimination through stories that make room for complexity, connection, and the courage to act. Love, hope, and inspiration guide the work. The people and communities we stand with give it purpose.

ORIGINS

A Poem. A Conversation. A Beginning.

The work began in 2012 with a poem, a conversation, and a shared recognition that too many trans and queer stories were missing from the stages around us. Jazzmun Nichcala Crayton and David Hays Gaddas began creating a theatrical work that could hold those stories with honesty, artistic care, and room for the people telling them.

That collaboration became Lovely Bouquet of Flowers: An Exploration of Non-Traditional Gender Voices, which received its world premiere on June 23, 2013, at the Renberg Theatre in Los Angeles. The body of work has continued to grow through performance, film, workshops, and community engagement. Lovely Bouquet Foundation carries that work forward, building the relationships and support that help it reach more people.

EVOLUTION

The Work Keeps Growing

What began onstage has grown into a continuing practice of storytelling, education, and community connection. We adapt the work for the people in the room, bringing performance into conversation with workshops, screenings, and opportunities for meaningful exchange. Our partnerships help us meet communities where they are, with care for the experiences and questions they bring.

The Anthesis Tour is our flagship initiative, connecting this body of work with universities, nonprofits, local government, and community partners. Alongside the tour, documentary storytelling carries these voices beyond the stage. As we build toward a proposed 2028 national tour, our purpose remains clear: to make space for truth, deepen understanding, and turn human connection into action.
